SPOUSAL PROGRAM
Spouses and other individuals accompanying the conference attendees as guests are welcome to participate in a variety of complimentary conference activities as well as several unique programs especially designed for their enjoyment.
First, each conference attendee is welcome to bring one adult guest to the Conference Dinner at the Corcoran Gallery of Art on Wednesday, 29 October and the Evening Reception at the FDIC Headquarters on Thursday, 30 October.
In addition, each IADI Participant and Partner is welcome to invite up to 3 guests to participate in the City Tour of Washington, DC on Friday afternoon, 31 October.
Finally, the following activities have been designed for the exclusive enjoyment of spouses and guests while the conference attendees are participating in the conference sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, 29-30 October.

Visit the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City Shopping Mall for a day of quality shopping and enjoyment. Round trip transportation in a climate controlled bus will be provided between the FDIC Hotel and the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City Shopping Mall. The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City Shopping Mall offers a world-class shopping experience. Take a glass elevator ride to the third level of the shopping center from where more than 170 fascinating stores and restaurants are revealed including Macy's, Nordstrom, The Ritz-Carlton, Ann Taylor, Apple, Armani Exchange, Bailey Banks & Biddle, Banana Republic, BCBG, bebe, Club Monaco, Coach, Cole Haan, Guess, J. Round trip transportation in a climate controlled bus will be provided for the day departing from the FDIC Hotel in the morning. The dress for the occasion will be casual attire. First, visit The Library of Congress, and take a tour of the largest library in the world which boasts an unequaled collection of millions of books, magazines, recordings, photographs, maps and manuscripts. Learn about the building’s symbolic art and architecture and view the grandeur of the Main Reading Room. Professionally trained docents tell the story of the Library, America’s oldest cultural institution, by talking about its history, its collections (including the Gutenberg Bible), and the services provided to Congress and the nation. After a guided tour of The Library take a short bus ride over to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The Kennedy Center was named in honor of the 35th President of the United States. The annual Kennedy Center Honors, awarded to recognize the talents and lifetime achievements of the world’s greatest performing artists, is broadcast from the Kennedy Center. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to the Terrace Café to enjoy a delicious lunch and magnificent sights of the city and the Potomac River in the backdrop. After lunch, a professional tour guide will escort you through a selection of the six different national theaters of the Kennedy Center: the Opera House, the Concert Hall, the Terrace Theater, the Eisenhower Theater, the Theater Lab, and the Family Theater. The L. William Seidman Center at Virginia Square is conveniently located less than four miles from Washington, DC with easy access to public transportation to all major sights and tourist attractions. Enjoy visiting your favorite museums and monuments at your own comfortable pace and return to the FDIC Hotel at your convenience.

In addition, the FDIC operates a free shuttle bus to accommodate FDIC staff traveling from the L. William Seidman Center at Virginia Square in Arlington, Virginia to the FDIC Headquarters Main Building located at 550 17th Street N.W. Washington, DC. The FDIC Headquarters building is conveniently located next to the White House and other major tourist attractions.
